Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

Introduction

SoundHalo ("we", "us", "our") operates an audio processing API accessible via HTTP. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle data when you use our services.

SoundHalo is designed as infrastructure for AI agents and developers. We do not require user accounts, and payments are handled via the x402 protocol using on-chain stablecoin transactions.

Data We Process

When you use the SoundHalo API, we process the following data:

  • Audio files — Uploaded for processing via our endpoints. Audio is processed in memory and not stored beyond the duration of the request unless explicitly requested.
  • Request metadata — IP address, request timestamps, endpoint called, audio duration, and processing parameters. Used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and service monitoring.
  • Payment data — On-chain transaction signatures submitted via x402. We do not have access to wallet private keys or balances.

Data We Do Not Collect

Because SoundHalo uses x402 for payments and does not require accounts:

  • No names, email addresses, or personal identifiers
  • No passwords or authentication credentials
  • No credit card or traditional payment information
  • No cookies or browser tracking

Audio Data Handling

Audio files uploaded to SoundHalo are processed ephemerally:

  • Audio is processed in isolated containers and deleted immediately after the response is returned.
  • We do not retain, archive, or index your audio content.
  • We do not use your audio to train any machine learning models.
  • Processed outputs (transcripts, cleaned audio) are returned in the HTTP response and not stored server-side.

Third-Party Services

SoundHalo may use third-party services for infrastructure and processing. These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies:

  • Cloud infrastructure providers for compute and temporary storage
  • Speech-to-text providers for transcription endpoints
  • Analytics services for aggregate API usage monitoring (no personal data)

Data Retention

Request metadata (IP addresses, timestamps, usage metrics) is retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes including abuse prevention, debugging, and capacity planning. After this period, data is aggregated and anonymized.

Audio content is never retained beyond the duration of a single API request.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, most traditional data subject rights (access, correction, deletion) do not apply. We do not have data to access, correct, or delete.

If you believe we hold any data related to you and wish to exercise your rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws, contact us at privacy@soundhalo.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the API after changes constitutes acceptance.
